Moroccan Zellige tiles are a traditional form of stunning mosaic tile art that are highly prized for their vibrant colors and exotic geometric patterns. Each tile is handmade by skilled craftsman that individually cut, hand-glaze and fire the unique pieces of tile. The intricate process results in variations in color and size that makes each Moroccan tile project a work of art that when properly installed will give you years of enjoyment.
Setting Moroccan (also called Zellige) tile is an art form that not just any tile installer can perform. It requires added steps and preparation due to the fact that Moroccan tiles are handcrafted, glazed and kiln-fired. The same artistic process that gives Moroccan tile its beautiful look, also creates tiles that do not come out identical in either shape or color.
Moroccan Zellige tiles are commonly used in decorative backsplashes and shower walls, but can be installed just about anywhere as a normal tile. They even look great outside.
Because Moroccan Zellige tiles are handmade, you will find them to be more expensive end than your average ceramic or porcelain tile. And installation costs are higher because of the degree of difficulty in correctly setting these beautiful tiles.

My husband Tom and I thank our lucky stars that we met Rob MacFarlane and he agreed to do the tile work in our master bathroom. Our bathroom was a 30 year old outdated ugly area and now is gorgeous thanks to Rob.
Rob is highly skilled at laying tile PERFECTLY, incredibly RELIABLE, had great ideas for maximizing space and has an upbeat “Can Do” attitude. His work ethic would be hard to beat. The finished product was beyond our expectations.
